Sharon Water Department Awarded 2022 Utility of the Year
In September 2022, the New England Water Works Association recognized the Sharon Water Department’s quick response to the PFAS situation, commitment to long-term projects, and continued supply of high quality water. Only 25 annual utility awards are given out nation-wide.
Recognition for Sharon Water Works [1896—2022]
In November 2022, the Sharon Water Department was presented a plaque by the MA Water Works Association, recognizing their efforts to preserve Station 1, which was built in 1896, and is used today as the lab, offices, and garage of the Sharon Water Department.
The interior of the building is about to undergo major renovations, including uncovering two beautiful arched glass windows that date back to 1896-1897.
