  1. I purchased a water bottle from the Boy Scouts at the ‘Light up the night’ celebration this past Saturday. Since it didn’t taste very good, I didn’t drink very much of it and brought most of it home since I planned to reuse the water bottle.
I was very surprised/disappointed to see off-color water and brown flakes floating in my water bottle when it was light enough to see what I was drinking.
I spoke with someone the next day who turned out to have had a similar experience with their water bottle.
What caused the water to be fouled and is there anything that can be done so that all future purchases won’t result in a similar regrettable experience?

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    1. Hi Jeff,

Apologies for the delayed response. Not sure if you’ve resolved this issue, but from what I understand, there was an unusually big draw on the water pipe that feeds the snack shack that night, which caused some of the naturally occurring minerals that line the water pipe to flake off. A filtration system would have solved the problem, but since the filling station was temporarily set up for just that night, it wasn’t something that they anticipated needing.

For a more detailed explanation, I suggest that you contact Eric Hooper, Sharon’s DPW Supt. at ehooper@townofsharon.org

      Thanks!
