Sharon has a long and proud history of protecting and preserving its drinking water aquifers. Efficient use of our well water will save money, improve our ecosystem, and maintain our water independence.
To further water conservation efforts in town, the Sharon Water Department has teamed with the Neponset River Watershed Association (NepRWA) in Canton, MA, to run the Sharon Water Conservation Program.
The program consists of award winning educational outreach, toilet & clothes washer rebates, free giveaways (shower heads and faucet aerators), and leak detection.
The Water Department has also partnered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency WaterSense Program, which promotes water-saving techniques, and encourages customers to look for WaterSense labeled products that have been independently certified for efficiency and performance.
